Blackbrook House History

3rd April 2013

Did you know Blackbrook House, Fareham, Hampshire in the 1950s to the noughties when it was a Maternity Home run by the NHS?

Recently we had a lovely visit from Janet who had her two daughters at Blackbrook House in the 1950s. Indeed one of her babies won 1st prize in the Blackbrook House baby contest in 1956!

We showed Janet around our newly renovated care home, and her daughter wrote to say they'd had a lovely afternoon. She also sent some photos over for the Blackbrook Babies website.

Blackbrook Babies is a community website project where we hope that people who had babies, or were born at Blackbrook House will upload their photos and stories from their time here.

Please do spread the word, as we are sure that many local people have links to Blackbrook and it would be wonderful to share their happy stories and build a picture of the Blackbrook House history.

If you would like to see Janet's photos they are on the Blackbrook Babies website now, why not pop over now and add your own - it's very simple and quick to do! Just click here.
