We have a large comfortable lounge with French windows looking out to the gardens and patio, leading to a terrace to enjoy the morning sun. The lounge has a TV with loop system for hearing aids, beautiful mirror, cosy chairs, sofa and large fireplace. This room leads through to a wooden floored dining area which can also be used as our homemade cinema with a large screen for residents to enjoy movies or view DVDs and photos of family holidays.

Peace & Quiet

The Oval Room is an impressive lounge area for peace and quiet or for listening to music, reading your favourite book or just chatting. This room is also perfect for serving tea or informal dining. Huge tall windows, comfortable chairs and a small dining table make this room very inviting for all.

Secluded Gardens & Grounds

Blackbrook House is perfectly situated in a secluded, peaceful area on raised ground with views from the top floor to the Isle of Wight. We are accessed via our 1/4 mile long private driveway and the House is set in 3 acres of landscaped gardens.

We have seated areas, a parterre, tulip trees, holm oak, maple trees, lots of different shrubs, majestic mature trees, bluebells, tulips , tete a tete daffodils, herbaceous borders, blossom trees, disease resistant English elm trees, rhodedendron, a rose garden, weeping standard roses - all for the enjoyment of our residents. The grounds have lots of wildlife including squirrels, birds, 2 nesting sparrow hawks, woodpeckers and owls.

The Original Greenhouse

At Blackbrook we are lucky to have access to the original greenhouse, now situated in a neighbouring property – the ideal place to over-winter plants such as our geraniums.
