Back in the 1920s 30s and 40s having a piano in the house was not the unusual thing it is today. People would spend time with their friends gathered around the piano singing their favourite tunes. Songs people might have heard on the wireless, at the local cinema or in musicals and shows could be played time and again. With the piano being such an important feature in many of the lives of our elderly residents, Blackbrook House has invested in a piano for our lounge.
Now our residents can play music and have a sing song whenever they fancy. Keeping in touch with long held skills like this is vital for retaining mental and physical dexterity, as well as being a really fabulous way of bringing everyone together to recall songs of their youth. The staff of Blackbrook House are also set to enjoy the musical interludes.
