Blackbrook House - Shortlisted For Fareham Society Design Award

26th November 2012

Blackbrook House Residential Care Home for the elderly has been shortlisted for the Fareham Society Design Award, and after 5 judges recently visited our lovely home, we have been told that we are down to the final two in the 'restoration of an existing building for new use' category!

One of the main aims of The Fareham Society is to develop interest in the promotion of high standards of architecture and design in the area. The awards scheme aims to recognise and to encourage good design, with awards usually being made every 3 years. Commemorative plaques are awarded to the winners of both the new-build and restoration sections, so we are very excited to learn how we have done in the New Year!

The criteria Blackbrook House has been judged on include:

  • How well does the design complement its surroundings?
  • How innovative is the project in concept and execution?
  • Where appropriate, how has the project made use of sustainable technology?
  • If the nomination is for a restoration project or an extension, how sympathetic is it with the original building?

We are very excited to hear of the outcome, so do wish us luck!

If you or a family member wish to view Blackbrook House with a view to moving into our care home, do drop us a line on info@blackbrookcare.co.uk or call 01329 280 573, where we would be pleased to hear from you.
