Some of the Blackbrook babies and mothers

Blackbrook House Welcomes A Special New Resident

19th March 2014

Back in 1950 Blackbrook House was a Maternity Hospital, and many local people had their babies here. Recently we showed round a lady who was born here, she was looking for a caring home for her elderly Mother. It is so lovely to think that Blackbrook's long and varied history continues to be so central to the local Fareham community - the lady's Mother is now one of our newest residents and has fond memories of her stay here after giving birth to her daughter all those years ago.

You might like to know that we have a growing and very interesting community website called Blackbrook Babies. This was set up so that anyone who had their baby here  or indeed were born here can add their photos.

Why not pay a visit? There are lots of very moving personal memories and some great photos of people back then and how they are today. We are looking for lots more people to contribute and we really hope that if you were born here, or convalesced here after having a baby, you might pay a visit and send us your picture.
